最為人知的維他命

要維持健康丶預防疾病,除要做足個人衛生措施外,適當的飲食配合亦十分重要。相信大家對維他命C亦不會陌生,每當到流感季節丶傷風感冒時,都會想起它。其實維他命C除了和呼吸道健康有關外,更有美肌(造骨膠原)、抗精神壓力、抗炎丶抗氧化丶抗菌抗病毒的作用。當中一項就是維持中性白血球(Neutrophils)的正常運作,抵抗外來細菌病毒丶作為免疫的重要防線。

 

每天建議攝取量?

前文提過,美國Institute of Medicine(與衛生署出版的刊物《彩橋》的參考指引相同)建議成年男士每天應攝取不少於90毫克維他命C,女士則應攝取不少於75毫克維他命C。定立這個數值的主要指標主要有:

 

1)人體能吸收的分量

一般維他命C從水果蔬菜或補充劑中(人工合成)的吸收率亦差不多:每天30 180毫克的吸收率為七到九成;而每天1000毫克吸收率卻跌至五成。未吸收的維他命C通常會從尿液中排出;如攝取量遠高於腸道能吸收時,有可能引致腹瀉。

 

2)維持中性白血球的基本數量

科學家在1996年以七名健康人土作實驗,觀察服用不同劑量維他命C對中性白血球數目的影響。發現受試者的中性白血球數目普遍在每天100毫克達到最高,就算再增加維他命C在這個實驗中亦不能增加中性白血球數目。這個20多年前的實驗只涵蓋完全健康人土的最基本維他命C免疫需要。在需要提升免疫力丶面對疾病(如呼吸道感染)或精神壓力時,便需要數以克計(1000毫克/每天)的維他命C補充。

 

脂質維他命C:更有效吸收的維他命C

 

脂質維他命C(liposomal vitamin C)是以磷脂分子包裹維他命C成脂質體/微脂粒(liposome);因其結構與人體細胞膜相似,故脂質體中的維他命C比一般水溶維他命C更容易被身體吸收,亦不易被氧化。有研究分别給不同受試者服用超高劑量(4000毫克)水溶性或脂質維他命C,發現服用脂質維他命C受試者血液維他命C濃度,明顯比服用水溶維他命C組高一倍。

 

不同品牌的脂維他命C會選用不同的磷脂分子作為包裹;一般以用向日葵卵磷脂的為佳,以便同時補充卵磷脂。近年以脂質包裹營養素漸成趨勢,容後再述。

 

維他命C攝取上限一般為每天2000毫克,過量攝取有機會導致肚瀉丶噁心丶頭痛等不適症狀。維他命C亦與某些藥物(如降瞻固醇藥丶雌激素等)產生交互作用,或影響藥效;服用要留意。
